Everyday guys weary of the über-cruisey Seattle scene make their way to the Madison Pub to drop the agenda and share some (now cigarette-smoke-free!) suds with friends, doled out by super-friendly and personable bartenders. Naturally, the sports-bar, Cheers-esque vibe makes it a great place to ease into the gay scene.
Steve Nick, assistant manager and veteran booze-slinger of the sadly departed Timberline, explains: "The owners have created a place that feels comfortable no matter what age you are, if you're a pretty boy, a muscle boy or a bear. Someone who is 21 and coming out or 49 and coming out for the first time would fit in and easily make some friends."
